Eligibility Criteria For Sassa Child Support Grant
Criteria for eligible childrens are given below:
- Candidates must be a South African citizen and living in country with childrens
- Children must be under 18.
- Relation with children as a father, grandfather or caretaker who leads the family.
- You are able to take more than 6 children’s grants.
- If you are single and caretaker of children your annual income must not exceed R52,800 and if you married combined income must not exceed R105,600.
Documents Required for Applying Child Support Grant
- ID Document.
- ID Document of spouse (if married).
- Birth certificate of child.
- If you are not a parent, proof that the child is in your custody.
- Proof of permanent resident of South Africa.
- In case of separation or divorce attach court orders.
- Proof of your income.
- Income of your spouse too (if married).
- Assets proof including property you own.
- 3 months bank statement.
- Marriage certificate or in case of spouse death attach death certificate of spouse.
When Sassa Will Stop Paying for Child Care Grant?
There are multiple reasons behind that when sassa stop paying the grant:
- Child is not in the country.
- Child is turning 18 years old.
- Child is in some state institution.
- Applicant was unable to get the grant for consecutive 3 months.
- Child passed away.
How Can I Check Child Support Grant Status?
Sassa will check the criteria if you are able to get the grant for children or not. After applying for a grant your application got approved from sassa officials now you have to check your status online by following these steps:
- You have to visit https://sassacheckers.co.za/
- Enter 13 digits Id number along with registered mobile number of parent or guardian.
- Click on the submit button your request will give to the database.
- The status of your grant will display on screen along with your Id.
What is the Current Value of Sassa Child Care Grant in 2024?
Sassa gives R 510 in 2024 per child in a month. The amount of this grant was not enough in previous years but the latest increment was too good to give relief to all parents. This amount was revised recently on October 01, 2023.
Reasons Behind Child Support Grant Declined
- You are financially strong to take care of your child.
- If you are not a parent you are not registered as a primary caretaker of a child.
- Someone else is already taking the grant of the child.
- You put false information as a caretaker of the child.
- You cheat with the government for taking the grant.
What if Sassa Child Support Grant Declined?
If you strongly know that your application is declined by mistake then you have a chance to reconsideration by following these steps:
- Visit the website www.mysite.com.
- Enter Id and cell phone number as a caretaker.
- You will receive an otp on your cell phone along with a link.
- Select the month for which your application declined.
- Give the reason for Sassa’s decline if you know otherwise, cross check the mistake.
- Click on the submit button
- Your application is again sent for the grant.
